AUTO - GENERATIVE SPACES
for Parramatta
An adoptable and expandable building shell that provides spaces and infrastructure to let the city of Parramatta develop, concerning its needs over time - a backbone for urban growth. Spatial upgrades can be added to the structure for different uses which achieve high flexibility for changing requirements.
The project area is structured by two main elements. A bridge anchoring the block in its diagonal and a tower positioned in the northwestern part of the site. Both elements are designed with the aim to maximize the visual permeablitiy and physical connectivity inside the project site as well as towards future developments in the neighbourhood.

The base elements of the bridge are 3 storey sets of „Wagons“ with areas between 170 and 550 sqm. Each „Wagon“ provides sufficient circulation and supplies to serve for various programming later on. Possible functions are: Residences, Market Area, Shops, Cafes, Bars, Restaurants, Arts and Crafts Studios, Creative Industry offices and Exhibition Spaces.
The tower has a typical floorplan with 950 sqm of useable area. 2 vertical circulations are positioned at the sides to provide the maximum of flexibility later on.
Special volumes are implemented in the tower to define the start point of the development. These volumes contain functions like a foundation center, conference center, gyms and a sky bar.
