We have to develop an inner-city campus for the MedUni Vienna. The key to solving the task set for a qualitative campus on Mariannengasse in the extremely dense construction site of Vienna’s 9th district came from the environment: if we assume that the fundamental rights of every human activity are based on a healthy relationship to the sun and nature in everyday life mean, it was not acceptable for us to get the ever-shaded stockyard. Light and views are the basis of a harmonious everyday life for everyone in our campus. As a result, we have decided to demolish the entire block provided - except for the listed building on the Höfergasse and the worthwhile building in the Mariannengasse No. 3 and to replace it with a sun-drenched building. Thanks to this decision, we were able to develop a stereoscopic green space in all aspects of life in research and education in the vertical campus, which should awaken and enrich the sensual level of science in the daily lives of the people of MedUni Vienna
